Remedial Massage Therapy
Massage has many benefits and positive effects, ranging from relaxation for therapeutic assistance, to relief from stress, as it has a calming effect on the nervous system, which in turn facilitates good mental health.
How can Remedial Massage help you?
Massage is used as treatment for painful conditions physically from accident, injury or illness, to provide relief from pain, ease stress and to improve range of movement.
My aim is to help improve people’s overall physical and mental health and well-being. Creating a space where clients feel comfortable, relaxed and at ease, so the effects of massage can take place. Whether it be a relaxation massage, where clients can switch off and let go, or a remedial massage to help improve their comfort and ease pain, I will provide the treatment that is needed for each individual client.
Types of massage include:
- Relaxation
- Deep Tissue
- Sports

Relaxation Massage
Relaxation massage may also be referred to as Swedish massage, this style of massage is flowing and smooth. Relaxation massage improves range of movement, blood flow and circulation. It can also relieve muscular tension and calms the nervous system.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage includes a combination of relaxation massage techniques together with looking at more specific body areas in detail. As the client relaxes and allows their body to surrender to the touch, the surface anatomy responds by enabling the muscle tissue to relax to a point where the inner fascia (connective tissue) can be reached.
Sports Massage
Sports massage uses treatment to support bodies that are under more pressure daily and are more active. As well as components of deep tissue and relaxation massage, sports massage treats muscles relative to their particular function, along with further techniques working with the body’s muscle mechanics, looking at the movement and function of muscle groups, along with possible muscle flow impediments.
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy massage is a very gentle massage, whereby a caring and nurturing environment is created to enable the client to fully relax, unwind and enjoy a relaxing experience.
Remedial Massage
Remedial massage looks at developing a massage routine, dependent on what the client presents with. Using a combination of relaxation and deep tissue to address and treat specific muscle dysfunction and help restore health to the tissues. Remedial massage also looks at possible muscle flow impediments and has a calming effect on the nervous system.
